We compare seasonal (6 month) observed and hindcasted significant wave heights, and calculate:

mean error (bias)
standard deviation
scatter index
peak bias
abs. mean peak error (5 highest peaks).

In the plots below, "opr" refers to the operational set-up with full data coverage. In the various test models, the data sets are matched up so that only forecasts produced with all set-ups are included. "oprtest" refers to the operational set-up, matched up in this way. "curtest" refers to the set-up with current refraction using BSHcmod/Hycom data.
